Internet

Internet workstations and Office software are available in all departments and branch libraries. Libraries have also queue-up workstations (15 min) in Estonia ave. 8, Liivalaia 40 and in Kännukuke branch library (E. Vilde tee 72), which require no reservations.

You can book the library's computer in advance from the computers booking system. To book a computer You will need a library card (library card number and a password (the same You use for logging in to My ESTER)) and an account in the booking system.

WIFI connection   is accessible in Kadrioru, Kalamaja, Kännukuke, Sääse, Pääsküla, Pirita, Laagna, Männiku, Nurmenuku, Nõmme, Paepealse, Pelguranna, Pirita, Pääsküla, Sõle, Sääse and Väike-Õismäe library, Estonian literature department, Music department and Department of Literature in Foreign Languages.

WIFI is free for all users of Tallinn Central Library. You must follow the regulations of the use of the library computer network, the library regulations and good practice.

Terms of use for workstations

Access to a workstation is granted to persons with their own personal library card. The customer is responsible for the workstation and its use in person. Workstations and equipment connected to them must be handled appropriately. You may not install programs to the workstations.

Reservations can be made with the help of the librarian in the library or you can also reserve the workstation by telephone. The library defines the number and length of reserved times that can be reserved at a time. It's possible to book seven days ahead. Workstations can be used free of charge.

OpenOffice package, compatible with MSOffice formats, has been installed into the user computer workstations for text and table processing. It is possible to save the documents in the "My Documents" folder. By using the command "Send To" it is possible to save the document on the disk or send it to your own resources in the Internet. The customer is responsible for deleting his documents.

Printing can be done from the workstations. Printed pages are subject to a fee.

It is prohibited to: disturb other users; restart/ shut down the computer; use personal disks and other data devices; change computer's configuration/ install programs to workstations; play games, visit chat rooms and other courses of action that are generally considered inappropriate.

Staff has the right to intervene in the disturbing use of workstations. The library is not responsible for damages that are caused to third parties with the equipment of the library.
