Normal loan period is 21 days. There may be differences in loan periods between various departments and branches. Loans can be renewed if it is allowed, there are not any reservations and you will renew them in time. You can renew your loans in Online Catalogue ESTER - My ESTER or you can ask the library personnel to do it for you. For online renewals you will need a PIN code.  The total number of items on loan may not exceed 20. If items are not returned in due time, then you must pay a overdue charge, which is 50 cents (0,03 €) per item a day (first 30 days), after that one (1) EEK (0,06 €) per item a day.

If the title you need is currently checked out it is possible to reserve it (non-fiction only). Reservations on library materials may be made in person or by the internet. You need to fill in the reservation form and when a book you have reserved arrives in the library you will be notified either by e-mail or by phone (the phone call expenses are paid by a borrower). The reserved materials are held for you at the library for two days, starting from the time of notification.

If your home address is not in Estonia and you want to borrow books, you have to pay a deposit. If you do not want to borrow any more, you have to return all the borrowed items, present a receipt and you´ll get the deposit money back.

Materials ment for in-house use cannot be borrowed. Also certain types of materials, e.g. especially valuable items, single copies of an item, recent issues of periodicals and reference items.
